On November 16, 2024, in the COP29 Green Zone, the panel discussion "Innovative Waste Management Strategies for Sustainable Development" brought together experts, corporate leaders, and policymakers to explore the transformative potential of waste management. Co-hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham), the event underscored the pivotal role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in driving effective waste management practices.

The session emphasized the importance of partnerships across the waste management value chain, showcasing how Azersun Holding and its subsidiary, AKKIK, contribute by recycling materials like paper and cardboard. Sustainera Solutions also played a key role in sharing insights on innovative waste management approaches and aligning efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). Discussions highlighted strategies for waste reduction, efficient recycling, and collaborative efforts to create a circular economy, paving the way for more resilient future.
