The NAP readiness support objective is to increase capacity on climate resilience and adaptation in those three sectors through the implementation of actions and activities that will reduce or eliminate barriers for an effective adaptation process at both the national and local levels.
The Sustainera team determined the demand for specific certifications on CCA for agriculture, water resources, coastal areas, natural disaster risk management and climate finance. The objective of the task was to conduct capacity needs assessment for the
development of CCA related University Specialized Diplomas and Certificates.
The scope of work included the following:
• Analyze capacity needs assessment and recommendations on climate change adaptation (CCA) for decision-makers and technical experts produced by individual consultants under the NAP project.
• Review Azerbaijan’s NDC and National Communications to the UNFCCC to understand knowledge and capacity gaps on CC more broadly and CCA more specifically.
• Review existing curricula of the Ministry of Education on environmental management and climate change aimed at training decision-makers and technical experts on CCA.
• Organize a presentation with the key findings of the initial review of existing education needs and available resources on CCA.
